SPORT: Brazilian star agrees deal to become Man United’s fourth summer signing

Manchester United fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the Daily Express have reported that the deal to bring Alex Sandro to Manchester United is close to completion.

The Juventus left-back has been linked to England all summer with Chelsea and United battling for his signature. However, the exit of Antonio Conte has since interest from the Blues cool down.

It is believed that United Chief Ed Woodward has prepared an offer worth up to £60 million for Sandro with just Mourinho’s consent required to finalise the deal. United left-back position has been a source of worry for the club since the exit of Patrice Evra some few seasons back, as Luke Shaw has failed to impress since his big move from Southampton.

Ashley Young was used as a makeshift left back last season but turns 34 next year, and Mourinho wants a long-term fix for the position. Juventus are open to selling Sandro as long as their valuation of £60 million is met. The Turin-based club are looking to sell some players to offset the huge wages of new arrival, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alex Sandro is one of Europe’s most consistent performers in the left back position and is known for his marauding runs and excellent defensive discipline. His arrival would be a major boost for United as they aim to challenge for the EPL this season.
